3 Tips to prepare your SLEEKFENCE™ for Wintertime.
We hope you’re enjoying your yard and your SLEEKFENCE this summer. As fall rolls around you may find yourself wondering how the cold weather will affect your aluminum privacy fence or your aluminum screen fence. You can rest assured that SLEEKFENCE doesn’t rust and is corrosion-resistant, even settling snowdrifts shouldn’t have any effect on its structural integrity. Our black privacy fence and screen fence product is very resilient and easy to maintain. Here are our top 3 tips to prepare your SLEEKFENCE for wintertime!
It would be a good idea to give your privacy fence a good clean at the end of summer. We provide everything you’ll need in our SLEEKFENCE™ cleaning kit. You don’t want to have any dirt or grime on your fence during the winter months. It will harden and set which will make It a pain to remove next spring. We recommend you follow all of the tips in our cleaning guidelines.
Post holes and gates:
Check your fence for any wobbles, due to varying temperatures and weather conditions the concrete securing your posts can start to crack or loosen up. You’re going to want to double-check that this isn’t the case and if it has occurred fill your post holes as required. This will ensure your fence stays strong and upright through Winter. When you are inspecting your gates you are going to want to pay special attention to your hinges, latches, and locks. You’ll be looking for any tightness and stiffness. If you find any tightness or stiffness in the hinges or latches then you are going to need to apply the correct lubrication. If you do this properly then you won’t have to worry about your gates seizing at all in the wintertime.
Clear away excess yard items:
Fall and Winter can bring stormy weather and wind. You are going to want to make sure all of your summer furniture has been carefully put away. Not only is this good when trying to preserve your furniture, but it will also ensure that none of that expensive furniture will crash against your fence denting it in the event of a storm.
