SLEEKFENCE vs. Hurricane Ian, Florida’s worst storm yet.

Project overview:

  • Objective: The client was looking for a fence with an impressive wind rating that could enhance security while maintaining a stylish appearance.

Hurricane Ian, intensifying to a Category 4 storm, struck the Florida coast on September 28, 2022, with maximum sustained winds greater than 155 mph. This event marked a significant meteorological occurrence, as only four Category 5 storms had previously made landfall in the U.S. with similar or higher wind speeds.

This SLEEKFENCE client, located in the affected area, had recently installed the SLEEKFENCE screen fence around their residence. The SLEEKFENCE was chosen not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its reputation as a robust and weather-resistant fencing solution.

The case of Hurricane Ian in Florida is a testament to the durability and effectiveness of the SLEEKFENCE screen fence product. In the face of one of the most powerful storms to make landfall in the region, the SLEEKFENCE exhibited remarkable strength, protecting the property while remaining unphased by the hurricane.

The SLEEKFENCE photos below were taken after the hurricane passed through.

We also borrowed a map from Yahoo Finance showing the storm surge. A storm surge refers to a temporary rise in sea level along a coastline caused by the strong winds and low atmospheric pressure associated with a storm, typically a tropical cyclone or hurricane. There are also pictures from WBUR and ABC showcasing the damage from the hurricane.
