Objective:

Provide a long-term, low-maintenance fencing solution suited to Siesta Key’s coastal environment and high-wind conditions while complementing the upscale residential character of the community. The association wanted a durable solution they could confidently “do once and do right.”

Description:

Coquille Condominium Association is a high-end residential community on Siesta Key, Florida. With million-dollar-plus homes in a gated coastal setting, the new white aluminum fence needed to meet both the performance demands of the location and the architectural standard of the surrounding properties.

The project began after the community’s existing vinyl fencing was damaged and ultimately ripped out during a period of high winds. Rather than replace it with another similar system, the association began looking for a more durable, low-maintenance solution designed for long-term use in a demanding coastal environment.

The Challenge

With the previous vinyl fencing having failed during high winds, wind performance and long-term durability in the coastal environment were key considerations. The project also presented several site-specific requirements:

Existing columns: The concrete and stucco columns were to remain, but their spacing varied throughout the property, making a standard panel layout difficult.
Clean, consistent installation: The new fencing needed to avoid narrow infill sections or uneven spacing that could compromise the finished appearance.
Privacy without complete enclosure: The community wanted greater separation between residences while maintaining some visual openness.
8-foot height: Approval was secured for an 8-foot fence, providing additional privacy and separation while maintaining a refined residential appearance.

The Solution

Collaboration

The project involved close collaboration between SLEEKFENCE, the fence contractor, and the Coquille Condominium Association from the early design stages through installation.

To help the community evaluate the system before moving forward, SLEEKFENCE provided renderings, technical drawings, physical material samples, smaller sample panels, and ultimately a full-size demonstration panel installed on site. This allowed the project team to see the proportions, finish, privacy level, and overall appearance of the proposed fencing in the actual environment before making the final decision.

Result

The completed installation delivers a significant upgrade in both appearance and long-term functionality. The custom-fit panels create a purpose-built look between the existing columns, while the white aluminum fence complements the architecture and coastal surroundings throughout the community.

The result is a clean, cohesive boundary system that provides privacy, separation, and security while remaining visually lighter than a fully enclosed fence. Most importantly, the association now has a durable, low-maintenance aluminum fencing system better suited to the coastal environment and high-wind conditions than the vinyl fencing it replaced.
